It's been a few days since we arrived to Antigua on the night bus from Flores. The journey itself probably deserves a separate blog space, but I prefer to keep it short and not remind myself too much of it! We "ticked" Tikal off the list yesterday. We were picked up by a shuttle at 4.30 and arrived to Tikal at 6am, the opening time. There is a 17km drive from the entrance to the National Park to the actual entrance to Tikal. It was unusual to see the animals on the road sign warnings such as the jaguar and a snake! We had a hilarious beginning of our journey towards Guatemala yesterday! As planned, a guy with the megaphone announcing our destination was waiting at the port. So far, so clear. Our minibus was supposed to leave Belize City at 10am. We had our tickets checked 3 times (by the same person) before we got on the bus. All the luggage was piled up across the last row of seats. 17 of us made for a nearly full bus and we set off around 10.30. Great! We're off to Guatem...
