So last time I wrote was las Friday altho feels like a million years ago since then. On that Friday nite I had a nice evenin hangin out in the bar wuv a couple of people I had met earlier in the week on the bus n randomnly bumped into. Was also my las nite travelling with gino since he cudnt get on the east coast bus. Was a really gd nite as we tried gettin an 18 yr old American drunk 4 the 1st time n tryin a few of the local beers.

Nxt day took the bus out of rotorua (thank god- if u didn't no rotorua is v geothermically active which means smoke rises frm the ground n the whole place smells like rotten eggs or sulphur to be exact). I was on a bus with around 12 people n was kl as we were all together 4 the nxt few days n came pretty close. The bus ride was pretty uneventful wat with every1 bein fairly tired frm the early start bt the views were pretty lush along the coast n stopped 2 hav Fish n chips on the beach! After driving like all day we arrived at our secret location which turned out 2 b sum dodgy motel in the middle of nowhere! Seemed a luttle like those places in horror films where every1 gets murdered! Also didnt hav an oven which i was gutted about as id bought garlic bread bt cooked it in foil on the stove which didnt wrk great bt did the job! Was nt alot 2 do either here so after a walk down 2 the beach n makin t, we mainly jus sat in our room n got 2 know people. We were all frm different countries as well n there were 3 lads frm Wales which was kl as I gt 2 hav sum O...Wats occurin? talk- need 2 watch Gavin n stacey agen nw! Was actually a really funny nite as the bus driver came in our room n started tellin us her life story n she nay hav talked 4 about 4 hours b4 leavin bt this gave us lots more 2 talk bout. 

The next day was amandas bday n started wiv us blowing many balloons n the bus driver gave us all jade necklaces that had been blessed which was pretty kl. We then took a trip to east cape which is the eastern most point of nz. At the top of this hill stood a lighthouse that had this kl story 2 it as was originally built on the island jus off shore bt bad things started happenin there n sum people died causing the lighthouse 2 b moved b4 it was washed into the sea. In the afternoon we stopped at a marae. A Maori lady showed us round the marae n explained the meanings of the different carvings n stories of her ancesters. Was pretty kl n 2 start wiv we had 2 perform the hungi (where u greet the other person by touching noses) n we sang the lady a song in Maori that we learnt in the mornin. Can only rememberthe line tao whucka puno because it sounds wrong wen u say it (wh in Maori is pronounced like f- lol). In the evenin we enjoyed a BBQ on the beach where our hostel was n then had a guy giv us a wine tastin session. Was really gd and we got given around 14 bottles of wine between about 9 of us so we got fairly drunk. Also ended up buyin a box of wine off 1 of the locals in order 2 carry the nite on. Got pretty wild n ended up doin sum hilarious things that shall nt b spkn of here (my mum reads this) bt the nxt mornin the locals said they'd never seen anything like it- lol.

The nxt mornin we somehow managed 2 get up 2 watch the sun rise which was kl as it's the first sunrise in the world! Didn't really go back 2 sleep after that bt every1 was knackered that day. On the way back was pretty dull since every1 wasso tired bt went through gisborne, went to c a really kl waterfall that kinda sparkles as it's all mossy n went n had a look at this wooden bridge. The funniest part of the ride tho was poor nancy frm Ireland. We thought she cud handle her drink frm the night b4 bt she was v badly hungover. She sat in the front seat of the bus n ended up throwing up out the window a fair few times. Didn't quite make the window the 1st time however n cus were travelling so fast it came flyin back through the 1st few rows- I was lucky that I was sat back abit. Was funny tho as everytime she was sick the guy behind her put up a book 2 stop any flyin back n amanda wud hide behind him. Felt really sry 4 her bt 2 c one side of the bus n these anazin views n the other side covered in sick was quite funny! Shud also say I planned 2 do my lake walk 2day bt the place I was gonna stay at was fully booked so I changed my plans n will nw do the full tongariro circuit (3 or 4 day hike) which shud hav even better views as it's around a bunch of volcanoes including mount doom!

That nite we gt back 2 rotorua n was kl as a few of us were in the same hostel so got a few pizzas n sum garlic bread in n was all gd. Monday mornin was jus chillin out after the crazieness of the las few days travellin bt in the afternoon I went White water rafting! Was really gd fun especially surfing which is where u go back into the rapids after uv left and goin over the waterfalls. The river we went down was grade 5 which is the wildest 1 u can do n included a 7m waterfall which is the highest commercial waterfall in the world so was pretty gd! Went wiv a few peeps off the east escape as well n Charlie fell out a couple of times n did her knee in- bad times bt luckily I never fell out. We also tried goin down rapids standin up n goin on our own whilst holdin a piece of rope by the raft which was kl! Also went around the park in the day that had lots of geothermal pools n it smelt really bad there bt was kl 2 watch the ponds n mud pools bubble n froth. That night we all cooked together agen n watched lord of the rings in the lounge which was all gd since it was the 1st time I'd seen it since I went 2 hobbiton!

On Tuesday i left rotorua n headed west to waitomo caves. On the way here I got to go visit the german rabbits n saw 1 being sheared- it felt really soft after! Then went to visit the glow worm caves which was pretty kl. Got a little tour of the caves n how they were found n stuff and then got to see a few glow worms n looked at the kl webs they spin! We then took a boat ride through a river running through the caves m there were thousands if glow worms on the ceiling lighting our way- was pretty kl! In the afternoon got 2 visit the huka falls where a volcano has given a river a small gap 2 travel through makin the water run really fast n it comes out of a small waterfall at the end bt was really kl 2 c the clear blue if the water rushing really fast n the fact it was all natural! 

N so 2day it's Thursday n wasn't really planning 2 do alot 2day n then I decided hey I'll do a bungy! Was actually the best thing ever- so much fun 2 jump frm so high up n jus feel urself fallin until the las minute n then u fly back up! Was the weirdest sensation ever bt pretty kl n was so buzzed after doin it! Got photos n a DVD 2 so hopefully can get them up at sum point. Was really funny as well as I went shopping this afternoon n the girl on the checkout was like good day?n I was like I did a bungy 2day! N jus started tlkin bout it as it was nice 2 tell sum1 bt was funny thinking bout it l8r. 

Anyways iv rambled on 4 a while nw- if uv made it this far well done! N I'll update again sn- gonna b doin the tongariro circuit the nxt few days so obv nt 4 abit bt wen I get down 2 Wellington! Hope englands all gd! ;-)
