Going to Montevideo was the first time that I have travelled alone on this trip. Although, I wasn`t alone for long, as the hostel I stayed in was really sociable and friendly. A lot of my time was spent shopping for presents, as it`s not long until I return to the UK. However, I did visit the Catedral Metropolitana and the Torres Garcia museum (a Uruguayan artist). One of the coolest things in Montevideo is the Mercado del Puerto, which is basically a massive building full of authentic meat and fish restaurants. I managed to take a couple of photos, but the chefs didn`t look too impressed so I thought I better quit while I was ahead. As Montevideo is located on the Atlantic Ocean the views from Sarandi viewpoint and La Rambla were particularly impressive.
