Woke up to a much better day today. Mostly sunshine. Off on a ten hour tour of the south shore. It is obvious from all of the countryside that Iceland is a young country created by volvanoes (lava and volcanic ash). Nevertheless, the volcanic ash is quite fertile and has created good soil, particularly for grass. We drove through the area directly impacted by the 2010 volcanic eruption.
