We are home! After our last two flights we arrived in Victoria and were met by Roger and Tess Balser on Saturday, 24 hours after getting out of bed in Hong Kong. I can now say (without having to touch wood) that, with 17 different flights on nine different airlines, we did not have a single air travel problem.
We arrived home in Courtenay yesterday afternoon and were greeted by dinner in the fridge prepared by our housesitter, Jenny. She is a gem.
It was a great trip, but, in the future, I will probably be less ambitious in the amount we pack into a trip and will schedule more days to just relax at specific times. We have to acknowledge that we are not youngsters anymore.
Having said that, we did enjoy the trip. The heat and humidity in Southeast Asia could be trying at times but we managed quite well. No real health issues that caused any disruption in our daily activities and the weather held up remarkably well. The most memorable parts of the trip were Borneo and Cambodia, but all of Southeast Asia was very enjoyable.
I hope everyone who has followed our trip on this blog has enjoyed it. Thank you, Helen Kitchen, for introducing me to offexploring.com. That's it for this trip. Over and out.
