We left Vegas and headed straight for Boulder City where we had breakfast at The Coffee Cup, a very cool 50s style diner ...family run business, Dad an old teen star and longboard surfer, son an Afghanistan vet...completely fun morning...and they had even waterskied at the Bridge to Bridge on the Hawkesbury so David thought it was all great ...the other big attraction of Boulder- the only city on Nevada where gambling is illegal...hallelujah, no casinos we had to traverse!!! Then on to take in the beauty of the Lake Mead area and the incredible engineering of Hoover Dam...hard to explain how truly awesome (and I mean it in the true sense, not in the way the kids use that word) the dam is considering that it was built in the 1930s. This afternoon we arrived in Kingman, the heart of Route 66 and have just got back from our dinner at the local Dambar Steakhouse ...real American downtown hospitality, and a dam good steak!
