Mendoza is fantastic. It is a small city in the north ish of argentina so its a bit warmer, and no rain. Woo hoo!! The area is a big wine growing region so the wine is very nice and very cheap.
On the thursday we hired bikes for the day and cycled around all the wineries. It was very amusing being drunk in charge of a bicycle!!!! At each winery you pay only about 2 pounds to be shown around and you get 3 tasters. It was a lot of fun but my bottom was very sore afterwards, I had to try and cycle on 1 bum cheek. I don´t remember it ever being that painful when I was younger.
The next day we booked ourselves onto a tango night, for dinner and a show. This has to be one of the best nights yet. There was a tango show telling the story of the history of tango in argentina and a 2 course dinner. Afterwards there was a dancing competition where each dancer picked someone from the audience. One of our friends was chosen but she had no chance because everyone else seemed to have had lessons, even the blokes. Then came the karaoke (in Spanish). We were given little choice in getting up and singing. The locals loved us and sang along (because we were rubbish) and cheered. Very funny. It ended with a band and disco. A very good night.
I spent Saturday recovering!!!! A group of Aussie guys in the hostel made a barbeque which was yummy. One was a chef so it was very tasty.
On the monday we went horse riding. My bottom had finally recovered from the cycling! My horse was pregnant. I´m not sure I should have been riding her, and felt sorry for her, but she seemed quite happy and was probably more energetic than the rest of them. We had a chilled evening in the hostel with another barbeque and drinking games!!!!
We left Mendoza on Tuesday after a very good week and arrived in Cordoba only 10 hours later. There isn´t alot to do here other than shop and go to student bars, hence why on Wednesday night we ended up in a bar till 5.30am!!!! You can guess I didn´t feeel well yesterday!!! We´re not going to stay here very long because there isn´t a lot to do, and plan to leave tomorrow to go to the Iguazu falls on the border with Brazil. It is 30 degrees there. Woo hoo!!!!
