Yesterday morning we woke up to a breakfast on the bus of coffee and a cake/biscuit (filled with dulche de leche) and arrived into Cordoba two hours late at 9.30am. We got a taxi outside the bus station and headed straight to the hostel, where we arrived just at the end of breakfast time, so grabbed some (vile) jam and bread and coffee, before dumping our bags. We had a quick sort out (Laura having to dry out most of her clothes and case, as it had got soaked enroute in the bus!) and headed back to the bus station to book our bus to Asuncion, Paraguay. After that was organised, we headed back into the city, to the Plaza San Martin, the main 'attraction' in the city, which was basically a guy on a horse, a chapel and a couple of fountains, lined by some market stalls. We wandered around the pedestrian area and then grabbed a bite to eat at a local cafe (Laura - Fish and rice, with tomatoes and onions, followed by fruit salad, Sarah - Portuguese Chicken and potatoes, followed by cheese and orange cake!) during the siesta time. After this we headed down the other end of the pedestrian street, past some shops and straight into our salvation - the shopping centre! We wondered round the numerous shops for a few hours before heading back to the hostel, where Sarah watched Harry Potter and Laura organised her no dry clothes!
Today we had a lazy morning and after we had had breakfast (bread, butter, jam and coffee) and gotten ready we headed back to the shopping centre, not much else we could do, especially, because it was raining!! We wandered around, had lunch in the food court (Paella and roasted veg - Laura, Quiche and veg - Sarah) and made some purchases before heading back to the hostel, to pick up our bags and grab a taxi to the bus station. We boarded our overnight bus to Asuncion, Paraguay at 6.30pm. We went through a few Farmers protests enroute and enjoyed an en-board tea-time snack of a variety of ham and cheese options, from rolls, to cobs, to sandwiches, with tropical juice. We watched 'Heartbreak Kid' (with Ben Stiller) and 'Alien-V-Preditor' before drifting off to sleep, with the brain-mushing suduko in hand!
