Day Fifteen
Think everyone was quite sad to leave this morning after our cooked breakfast, however we were heading to the Grand Canyon. Quick visit to Lake Powell on the way as it was too cold for swimming.
We arrived at the Grand Canyon and Glaze made us all stand in line and hold hands with our eyes closed while he guided us to the lookout point as he didn't want us to catch a glimpse before we got the end- it was amazing how big it was.rnrnWent to set up camp before the van picked us up for our helicopter ride over the canyon- it was fantastic we went in with Sandy, Carston and Wayne.
As if the day couldn't get any better we then drove to another lookout point over the canyon and sat and ate takeaway pizzas and had champagne while the sunset over the canyon, it's little things like this that are making this trip one of the best.
The night was finished off in the bowling alley with a few games of bowling- well I obviously couldn't take part with my wrist so I was part of the cheering squad instead.
Day Sixteen
Today was our free day in the Grand Canyon, Sandy and Carston were hiking into the canyon but we thought we would really struggle on the way back up so Wayne and us two decided to hike for half an hour down into the canyon and then back up and we then hiked round the rim- this was 7 miles but quite flat we got to see loads of views.
We rested our weerie legs in the IMAX theatre and watched the Grand Canyon film, Glaze made tuna helper for tea and we relaxed playing cards and sinking a few beers in the freezing cold- it actually got to minus 4 on both nights in the canyon.
