One of the features in the Flinders Range National Park. The impression is that it is an old volcanic crater. Actually, it was formed by layer upon layer of sediment followed by a buckling of the earth's crust creating this bowl-like feature. This photo was taken from a small plane which we took over the Flinders Range.
