Day57-58

We arrived in Rockhampton around 1830 and was collected from the train station by our hostel. When we arrived we didn't think too much of it; the room wasn't very nice either.

We were staying in Rockhampton as we wanted to go over to Great Keppel Island for a few days. Although 1 hostel had closed down and the other was still being renovated so we were unable to go. We decided to book our train to Airlie Beach the following day.

We hired the bikes and rode into the CBD, thinking that there would be things to do in 'Rocky' as it's the 2nd biggest city in Queensland. Much to our surprise they shut everything at 1230 and everything was closed on Sundays. So we went to the Botancial Gardens where there was a zoo and Japenese Gardens.

We got up early to book a train and was informed that the only one avaliable left at 0215 so we had to get the train the following day. We had to find something to do from 1000-1915. We made some sultana scotch pancakes, watched 2 movies and updated our blog. Our train from Rocky to Airlie was at 2030 and we were arriving at 0455. We slept in the hall way of the hostel until 0700 when the reception opened.
