Day 24 - 6th August Moab (Utah) to Cortez (Colorado)
Every Opportunity
Woke up early to head out for a hike with a some Harley guys (sorry fell's, I'm terrible with names) to Arches Nat Park. Actually we agreed to start out at 6.00am from the RV Park but my watch was still out an hour from further north, so it turned out to be a 7.00am start.
The wind in the desert can be very strong and it also started to rain as we headed out. The scenery was amazing as we walked about a mile to the arches. It's amazing how the rocks take different forms from different angles.
After the morning hike the guys headed north while I headed north east to one of Americas top rated rides back in Colorado. It was a little out of my way but was well worth it as the switchback's reached some high altitudes again.
Ended up just outside a town called Cortez Colorado in Navajo country. Landscape is starting to change quickly the further I head south.
Cheers
Greg
