once 9months old the chicks leave and spend 4-5 years constantly flying and living at sea they dont touch ground for that number of years. eating squid and scraps from fishing boats. before returning to bond and then the pair are together for life, rearing one chick every 2 years, they can live till aroun 40 but the oldest is 69 at this colony!
