First day of riding was eventful and fun. After spending a couple of hours on DIY bike prep, we rode off toward Beaugency. Along the way, we got lost for a little while, had some rain (a downpour actually) and some sun, pumped up a flat tire, stopped at a playground and generally enjoyed the thrill of the self-reliance on the open road. Tuesday was another terrific day in Paris for us. For starters, I got up early and strolled around st Germaine, succeeded in finding a cafe open before 8 -- no easy task in this town of late sleepers. We had a tasty low key dinner of crepes last night. Our apartment is . . . umm . . . basic, one might say. Hard to know exactly what to expect from the internet right? After dinner, all three families climbed to the top of the Arc de Triomphe. The view was spectacular. It was a fitting end to a fun day in Paris. Pictured are Jane and Jordan atop the Arc.
