Brisbane was a really cool city just to wander round and chill out in to prepare for the hardcore next few days on Fraser Island. I got myself out to the koala sanctuary which was amazing and refrained from stealing the koala I cuddled - they're incredibly cute close up and smell all eucalyptusy which is quite bizarre! They also have kangaroos, goannas and other animals there including some emus who seemed to be able to get out of their enclosure at will and wander round scaring people like me!

I also spent lots of time on the South Bank of the river where they've made some beautiful parks and an artificial beach - definitely what is missing from the South Bank of the Thames! It's quite strange to be in the middle of a city on the beach, especially when the water smells of chlorine instead of salt...

So that was Brisbane really, just a lot of wandering, chilling out, eating and drinking. Which is just as well as the next stop is Fraser Island...
