I'm desperately back tracking my journal entries having bee incredibly lazy for the last couple of weeks so hopefully haven't forgotten too many important details... So I am now officially on the next part of my travels, accompanied my Mr Jamie Davies (after a very long wait in Bangkok airport!) We've been staying in a really nice hotel - hot shower, TV and air con - a bit of luxury compared to the previous places I've been staying! It's amazing how different Bangkok is to KL, there are so many more backpackers and tourists everywhere it's a bit of culture shock when I've spent the last 2 months really standing out in Malays...

Finally the sun has come out and allowed me to experience a bit more of Penang that just its shopping centres and internet cafes! Yesterday, once it had finally stopped raining and the floods had subsided I took myself off on the bus to Penang Hill which is about half an hour outside Georgetown.
