Well.....!! It's been a long time since i could update this as i haven't been near a computer for over a week!! So here goes...
Last week on monday we set off to Surf Camp, we started in a little place called Crescent Head on the east coast. There was dorms where we slept, a camp fire, a camp-type kitchen/eating area and hammocks dotted around, all in a little surf camp! Every day we would get up about 7am and have brekkie, then everyone went down to the beach to surf..except yours truly! I found out a few days before that it's not for me but as all the guys at the camp said, you're here to live like a surfer and party and that i can do!!! every night, we'd have dinner then play a game to decide who washed up, we only had to do it once when we lost at Jenga! Then it was time to take our alcohol to the 'humpy' which was a little spot close to the beach in the trees where there was a camp fire and a bench and table, no light though so very dark by that time!! We sat up will the early hours playing drinking games and having a laugh, before doing it all again the next day!!
On Thursday we headed up to 'Spot X' a bit further up the coast to stay for one night and do some surfing etc there too. On the way there we went Go Karting which was sooo cool, loved it.
We have now got upto Byron Bay, which is absolutely gorgeous, it's a little town with a gorgeous beach, loads of shops, bars, restaurants etc etc. On our way here, we stopped off and rode a Jet Boat on the river, we went right up to the river mouth, to jump over the waves and as the boat came up, i landed in my seat and jarred my back.....so when we got to Byron, i had a nice little trip to hospital just to get some painkillers..that was a nice 3 hour wait! Anyway, i'm fine just a little back ache, so don't worry.
We went out last night to the bars around Byron and had a really good laugh and a dance till 3am then to bed ready for this morning......
This morning about 11 of us went skydiving, from 14,000ft over Byron Bay....hmmm i was very excited and very nervous...ok i was terrified and when we jumped out i found i couldn't actually breathe so i had to breathe into my hand (which on the video looks sooo ridiculous i might have to do it again!), also the harness was on too tight so it dug right into the inside of my thighs and when i landed i couldn't walk! So all in all....it was an experience i just wish i hadn't been in pain so i could have enjoyed it more. Noone else had the same experience which is just typical really..
Now i have to just quickly update you so far on a few of the unfortunate things to have happened to me (just me) so far on this trip:-
1. Luggage arrives a day and half later than me...
2. I lose my prescription sunglasses 3 hours after arriving..
3. I drop my lovely phone into the toilet (which by the way i hadn't yet flushed..)
4. I have no charger for my spare phone and have to go buy one.
5. I sprain my back on a jet boat ride
6. I chaif my thighs, bruise my leg and bruise my arm skydiving
7. My camera is full of sand but just about still works....except battery is dead and charger is in Sydney as we left a lot of our luggage there thinking we'd be back sooner than we will now be!!
8. My xmas cards etc and prob a parcel from mum are in Sydney...I'm 10 hours away....
That's about it..i'll keep you posted and will be staying firmly on terra firms for a while now i think!!!!!!
Back soon!!
