Managed to acquire a window seat to enjoy the passing views on our approach into Tromso, which can be likened to getting a sun bed next to a swimming pool! Things started improving when we went to another talk from Paul Barker, the ex paparazzi who gave us instruction on photographing the Northern Lights, followed by an amusing story of his exploits during the making of the film 'The Calendar Girls'. Then came the time to disembark for the shuttle bus into town. So, after being warned of the cold and icy conditions, we don our thermal long johns etc. only to find ourselves waiting on the corridors for our shuttle bus number to be called for about an hour and a half! That said, the day's entertainment was provided by the people who didn't know their aft from their elbow and running around in ever decreasing circles trying to find their way out! Hysterical, I laughed 'till I cried!! Rob could have made a fortune if he'd charged for standing and directing them! Lol. Anyway, we made it into town for long enough for me to buy another hat. Then we returned to the ship with barely enough time to change and get ourselves to the bar for a much needed cocktail, only for an announcement to come over the tannoy that the Northern Lights are visible up on deck! To say there was a stampede was an understatement! Well, we got there to find a cloud formation much like we get at home! Oh well, back to the bar! By the way, I forgot to mention, my hat has a rabbit fur bobble! Lol
