Early start today for a long drive through Sweden and Denmark to the bottom of Scandinavia. The Swedish part was brightened by gorgeous sunshine and the odd sudden snow blizzard leading to us wearing gloves and sunglasses at the same time...this only looks odd when you find yourself fumbling for money in a petrol station queue! Our last wake up in Stockholm. We packed up all our gear into driving position and set off for Johns flat with the promise of an English Fry-up guiding us. Also guiding us was the sat nav since we hadn't actually so far driven in Stockholm, in fact the motorhome hadn't moved since we arrived. It's our last night in Stockholm and we've had a blast. The weathers gone from sunbathing in t-shirts by the lake to playing in snow on the beach in full winter gear. We've ventured on trains (tonnes of them), boats & a tram as we've explored the city. Skansën was excellent, a huge park where people live traditionally and there are oodles of Nordic animals. The children's museum was also great with lots of wooden play sets such as planes, houses and a story...

We started the day only 3 hours from Stockholm and unable to check in at the next campsite until after 4pm so we let the kids choose what to do with our free morning. They both chose swimming. The pool was great, specially designed for kids with lots of different types of slides and floats. Everyone in Scandinavia speaks English which had lulled us into a false sense of security because when the tannoy system spoken in Swedish we just ignored it. The next moment...

Today started with a ferry, the Prins Richard, the spearhead of the Scandlines fleet. We reached the port, our printed ticket was scanned and we were ushered on to the boat in record time. We were parked with the lorries and caravans on the bottom deck so decided better scenery would be found higher up. The top deck was great, duty free shopping followed by sea viewing in a prime spot.
