We woke up to clouds so Steve pounced on the opportunity to drive up Teide. After a hearty home cooked breakfast on the balcony we set off for the summit. The views all day were spectacular with broken clouds allowing us to see the neighbouring islands and boats out to sea. On the way up we felt our ears pop and breathing alter as we climbed to 2000m. Our first full day. We treated ourselves to breakfast in the Pink Parrot, a cute little cafe in Las Galletas that we had frequented last time. The sea was rough, the fishermen had just returned with a haul for the fish stalls and everyone was going about their day jobs. After breakfast the kids played in the park for a while. Except for the bar lined promenade it's not really a tourist place so is intriguing to see daily life of locals and you could people watc...

I'm writing this at half past midnight whilst sitting on the balcony drinking a Corona and talking to Steve. Yes I did say talking, with no Internet we are actually speaking to each other and it's surprisingly ok :) We decided to blog this, as we did the Sweden trip, so we remember the little things that are so wonderful at the time but so quickly forgotten. Today was travel day. Suitcases stocked full of clothes, kids brimming with excitement and me overdosing...

Woke to the sound of rain tapping on the roof which sounded ace, the kids were a little sad that they couldn't play on the park but soon got over it by role playing peppa pig episodes which ed has on loop on the tv. Half our journey was in Germany's industrial and graffitied North West, at least it was roadwork free and in parts quite quiet. Ed slept through it all. We stopped for lunch as soon as we got to the Netherlands, midway through our butties we realised...

We actually got the ferry we planned to get this morning, admittedly it pretty much departed as we drove on but still we made it. I'm writing this from Munster Germany not Sevenum Netherlands which tells you that the whole day wasn't as planned but the ferry was spot on. It was really busy on the ferry but we had 300 Danish krona to spend so we went round the shops then sat out on deck watching the last of Scandinavia disappear. North East Germany isn't pleasan...
