I read somewhere recently that whatever you say about India the opposite is also true. And that, I believe, is a deeply insightful way to explain the day to day living in India. It has now been three months since I first arrived in India, this being my fourth trip here, but my first time to rent an apartment and stay in the one spot, the one city, and the same neighborhood. Why? Because I came to study ashtanga yoga - at the source, in Mysore in the southern state of Karnataka. My daily routine is simple; practice yoga at seven thirty for two hours (then the rest of the day is my own as we used to say at work around eight o'clock in the evening) - breakfast, swimming pool, coffee, reading, study (some Sanskrit and ancient Indian texts), shopping, lunch, dinner, email, browsing, hanging. Some people come for a year, me, three months is enough. I haven't traveled anywhere since arriving here from the east coast near Chennai/Madras - so there is scant little to tell of travels and fewer photos as the camera has been hibernating while on this holiday from my holiday. Next week I go to Paris and then to the south of France. One more month of fun before the reality of London.
