Up at 6:00 am and out for a morning drive! It was a nice drive but still no rhinos. Back at camp, we packed up and headed for Tsavo East.
Upon arrival, we set up camp, showered, and went on an afternoon game drive where we spotted a new type of guinea fowl, an angry 65 year old (or more) bull elephant who was not impressed with us at all, and a vast herd of buffalo at a watering hole. Red dusted elephants frolicked in another water hole; and at yet another water hole, we backed right up to watch this interesting dynamic up-close. Pleased with our day, we headed back and enjoyed an excellent supper but found ourselves exhausted, so we went to bed at 8:00 pm, ready for our final 6:00 am start.

Last day of Safari!
We awoke a little bleary-eyed. Bush babies, lions, elephants and baboons had made a lot of noise the night before, but we, nevertheless, looked forward to our last drive. It started out well when we came upon a male lion near the road. Then Joseph heard over the radio that other drivers had spotted a cheetah. It turned out to be two hunting cheetahs, so that was cool. Along the way, we stopped to get some great pictures of a gerenuk, reaching high into a tree.
On the way back, an impala stood stock still until the last second and then suddenly leapt 2 meters vertically into the air, clearing 3 metres of horizontal ground. We couldn't believe the power of such a sweet little creature.
Overall, it was a great morning. David made us brunch, which was literally all of his breakfast and lunch leftovers, and we headed for Mombasa full and happy with our adventures.
