I think it would be boring of me to sit here and describe to you each day of chilling in the sun by the lagoon or the crazy nights out in Cairns (as enjoyable as it all was) but the one thing that really topped off our travels of Australia was definately the Sky Dive on Mission Beach. We had to get a 2 hour shuttle down to Mission Beach, and when we got there we were introduced to our crazy Tandem Masters. We all decided to get our videos done (will try and put it up at some point, if not i'm sure you'll all see it when I'm back) so we had to do our introductions- which are hilariously cringe, but definately worth it. There's no way you can look cool while you are bricking it for a skydive anyway!! So we got kitted up and drive 20 minutes to the airfield where all 16 of us got all the smallest, fragile little plane with just a plastic shutter for a door! (have no idea how we all fitted in). Then we did an amazing 20 minute flight over The Beach and The Great Barrier Reef, was literally incredible. Then as we rose above the clouds, we got to the drop zone at 14000 ft and the plastic shutter was opened. Kerris was first to jump out and it was crazy watching as she was taken by the wind and sent tumbling down through the air. Before I knew it I was sat on the edge of the plane, legs dangling out, and then before I knew what was happening I was falling. Theres a moment of panic where your body tries to register whats going on, but then an awesome realisation that you're freefalling! and the feelings incredible, not like the sinky feeling you get on a rollercoaster, just like a feeling of weightlessness! We freefalled for a whole 60 seconds before the parachute is pulled and then you get the parachute down for 5 minutes taking in the views, getting over what you've actually just done and even getting to control the parachute!! Then we landed on the beach, although billy stacked it on his landing which looks hilarious on his video! Honestly one of the best things I've ever done.
Anyway since Cairns, we flew down to Brisbane where we had an overnight stop and just slept in the airport for ages!! and we are now in Auckland in New Zealand! Had to say goodbye to Ollie at Brisbane which was so sad and now there's just the 3 of us! Today we went up the Sky tower which is the tallest manmade structure in New Zealand and the views were incredible. There were even people jumping off it! We start the Kiwi Experiance tomorrow which I can't wait for, and our first stop is Mercury Bay. Really have no idea what to expect as I don't know much about the stops in New Zealand, but guess it makes it more exciting!
Will try and update soon! Missing you all xxx
