As i said we stayed at Wirrilyerna cattle station, they had a pet kangaroo called mary who drinks beer and eats ice cream. she jumped up at me though so i avoided her after that!! nikki and i got our own room again this time with bunks. still no phone reception and i have seen a computer since cairns. proper outback cattle station, it was very exciting. our dinner was cooked over the campfire and we all sat around sort of trying to sing some aussie tunes and in the end banging bin lids, sticks, cans and boomerangs and pretty much anything we could find to make as much noise as possible as no one for miles and miles and miles around. the generator went off at 11pm and i had to brush my teeth by torchlight and then make my way back to my room outside and into my bed in the pitch black, that too was hilarious and i played a lot of shadow puppets! woke up at 6am and it was raining, who would think!? and freezing! we had to find out if we could continue onward as the roads we driving on are not sealed roads, but all was ok and we carried on. stopped at termite mound that was 5 metres tall, madness. stopped at tobermoray roadhouse (proper toilet!). and then walked across the northern territory/queensland border and lost half and hour in the process as we walked across a time zone! little did i know how long i was going to be in the northern territory eh! saw the famous ghan train tracks but no train. got to alice latein the evening, staying at annies place hostel...
