We quickly explored 1770 in the morning, seeing the Captain Cook memorial. We were up early to be disappointed that the whale watching trip had been cancelled. Apparently it was too windy and rough, and as there are few whales left in the area the chances of seeing them was very low.We headed off up north driving through some agricultural land but mainly miles of forests. We stopped briefly in Bundaberg which Graham thought was famous for its cake but is in fact famous for rum and ginger beer. We sampled the ginger beer but not the rum....
