Euuurrghh...early start this morning. Got up at 4.55am and out the door for 5.15am!! Time to move to the tubing town - Vang Vieng! First off though, we had to drop our backpacks off at the Stray bus 2 blocks down from our guesthouse. Then we went up to the main street to watch "the giving of arms" (I think it's called) - giving food gifts to the monks. It was pretty busy with tourists, and the local people sell different foods to tourists to give to the monks. ...

Woke up with a sore head once again - was awake at 8am as well, too early. Therese was snoozing away until 9.30am! We didn't have anything planned out for today so didn't rush around too much for a change. Once I was ready I just went and chilled out on the benches at the guesthouse, sat in the sun next to a little fountain with a pond and wrote some blogs. Didn't have the best nights sleep. We're in a really quiet area, but we're staying in like a wooden chalet type place so you can still hear anything that is going on outside. There was a young kid who was really crying last night and woke us up a few times. Seemed to be coming from the house next door. I remember looking at the time and it was 4.30am. Sounded like a really poorly kid actually so we tried not to be too annoyed... Got talking to a guy from Austral...

Well, the flight wasn't so bad actually. It was a propellor plane though and when it set off up the runway it was SO loud! Thought I was going to be deaf by the end. We flew with Lao Airlines and it cost about £100. Got a little snack on board too - was a bit of a weird bun, tasted a bit like donut and had ham in it ...still ate it. Two seats on each side of the cabin and only had one toilet at the front...small. Got talking to a nice couple from Ireland as well...

New country today! We have a 6.30pm flight to Luang Prabang in Laos. And that's it for tour groups until February next year. We had chance for a bit of a lie in again today until 9.30am. Typical that we both woke up around 7am!! Managed to get back to sleep though. Said our goodbyes to Dan and Sue who go home to Ireland this morning - they'll be having a nice Sunday dinner tomorrow...
