After arriving 3 hours early for our ferry from Koh Phangan we managed to secure ourselves the best beds, a bunk each in the middle of the cabin away from the sardines sleeping on the floor. Our journey to Koh Phangan involved a very uncomfortable night ferry crossing. After nearly missing the ferry Nikk wasnt given a bed and was instructed to sleep underneath between the engine and the loo! Not too keen on this idea we decided to squeeze 4 of us (we'd met a dutch guy robert who had taken a shine to Leanna) into a 2 person space. We reached Ko Phi Phi with high expectations because it is reputed to be one of the most beautiful islands to see in Thailand, along with those that surround it. However, our first impressions when we got there were that it was just too touristy, with loads of holidaymakers and backpackers milling around at the pier and along the streets - I suppose it was to be expected with a world class reputation. We were supposed to leave Siem Reap on another early bus to cross the Cambodia/Thai border, but much to our alarm the bus and everyone else waved goodbye and left the 3 of us standing on the side of the road. Another early start, 630 aboard our bus to Cambodia.
