No words of encouragement from us, the fact that you are there and we are here at home in front of a laptop surfing the web for a sniff of otherworldliness and you are there smelling it in all its maleficent odoriferousness (sorry about that but I seems some of your prose style has rubbed off)
What we really need to know is what is the architecture like.
have a look next time your out, on the swings or dog spotting.

Good to read your news David. I agree with Beth: when all else fails use your Brit charm, can't be beaten! Hope the weather is better with you than me- cold, wet....
Look forward to more stories.

Buenos Dias David. Im afraid that is all i know in Spanish so the rest will be in english. Sorry I never got to say bon voyage last week and hope your journey went well. Sounds like you are having fun already but be careful of those alleys! Looking forward to following your epic travels. Take care for now, love Ann.

hi there, glad you made it ok, and are already sampling the local delights - ha, ha.
And there was me thinking that the days of Eva Peron, Don't dry for me, etc etc, had long since gone. It sounds like there may be another show for Andrew Lloyd Webber to pick up on, and make his millions - he , he.
Glad you have found your hosts, and US colleague to be friendly. I am sure you will start to build a rapport with both and other people you come across during the coming months - just look out for those unsavory ladies though, otherwise they may be looking to fill your luggage with their person.
Good luck in your exams tomorrow or whenever, sorry I can't help you too much with Spanish , other than - dos cervaza por favor, and La cuenta por favor.
anyway , all the best
nb - if you would prefer me to use an alternative method, eg via your blog, let me know
cheers
