Arrived in San Francisco at 3.30 USA time which was about 11.30 UK time. So a long day having been dropped off at the airport at 9.30am. We got to the hotel and kept ourselves going until about 8.30!!!!!
Sunday found us having breakfast at Lefty O'Douls. We then made our way to Fishermans Wharf and saw the seals at Pier 39. A pelican flew over! We then walked up to Coit Tower which unfortunately had a broken elevator so we couldn't go to the top. Saw the murals. Great view over the bay and the Golden Gate Bridge.
Walked to Lombard Street and saw the famous zig zag road.
Took the cable car, all hanging on the sides up and down the hills. unfortunately there was a power failure before we got to Union Square so we walked the last bit. ate in Lori's Diner!,
Monday - New Year's Eve and we walked to the Ferry Building. Tried to book trip to Alcatraz but no spaces until Saturday and we will be gone, so have booked a boat trip tomorrow under the bridge and around Alcatraz. Wandered through China Town and found Starbucks with free WI Fi. We assume they pay their taxes here.
Fireworks tonight over the bay.
