So next on our agenda was to get to a small village called Samaipata where we knew some witnesses. The plan was we would leave Uyuni by bus go to Potosi swap buses and go to Sucre. We would then jump on a plane to Santa Cruz once there we would get a taxi to take us the 2 and a half hour drive to Samaipata.. Easy right?? Not in Bolivia!! And especially not at Carnaval time! We are back!! Sorry it's taken a bit to write another blog - that's what Bolivia does to you! So what have we been doing?? After Salta we left for Bolivia & crossed the border at Villazon. It was exactly as you would imagine.. dusty, dirty & packed full of Bolivian ladies wearing bright colours, long skirts, bowler hats & 2 long plaits. It was a bit of a reality shock for us girls! And I would like to say that things picked up once we got on the bus...

So after a 20 hr bus ride we arrived at Puerto Iguazu....but it was so worth it!! The falls were amazing!! They met every expectation we had! And the little town was really nice too with the best steak we have had so far...can't complain :-) We are now in Salta after another 24hr bus trip! Just enjoyed lunch at Colonia del Sacramento, Uruguay! A beautiful little town on the way to Montevideo, cobblestone streets and colourful buildings everywhere. Leisha says kinda like Santorini....minus blue roofs...white walls...and annoying ppl with donkeys...very profound I know, ha!

Today we took a train an hr north of BA to a little riverfront town. The train was an experience in itself...they try to make money out of everything and anything, from socks to icecreams to a whole band coming through, complete with a mic, guitar, bongos etc. Maybe we should try that in Melb?
