Just looked at the latest photos with Mere who has been here for supper. We love the architecture and are trying to locate the Thar desert on a map. Mere sends love and is looking forward to seeing both of you in April. Mum

Just too add some light on the subject, i would like to defend myself. Although i think i'm above this,i am willing to do it for those film critics with narrowed minds!
As it was, i made clear to everyone that i would be coming back for a trip more than 6 months before my arrival date.( If i can plan a round the world trip in +/- 6 months surely my friends of 25+ years can plan some activities in their native land in the same time frame!).
At first after knowingly making the effort and travelling such a great distance i was not put off with the lack of correspondance! It took countless unanswered phone calls and non-returned potjie invites to finally give up the fight, although my hopes were again escalated when meeting my two freinds Paw-Paw and Ou doos on a Friday in Plumstead and being promised a phone call that evening to arrange an evening of festivities, food and remember the old times.
I think in the old times i might still have been in Cape Town now patiently waiting by the phone for that call but thanks to my now agent(I.B) I've been sent on my travels!!
After being in India for more than 2 weeks now and being so close to the Bhudism religion, i'm at one with my inner karma and have learnt to forgive and forget! I just hope that my 2 freinds Paw-Paw and Ou Doos can do the same otherwise when i get back there might be a tropical punch involved!

Hey you 2 whingeing exotic fruits, firstly its a pnyappel and not a paw paw man. Dikes was under strict instructions by his agent (myself) not to waste his air time with useless phone calls and smses on the 2 of you as it might have given his location away. So, gaan kiting julle manggwaaps. Druk n pynappel binne in.... As monsoon would say 08600GAANVLIEG.

now that the cat is out of the bag, i would like to add my two cents to the previous blog. i am almost lost for words but must admit that i thought i would have seen a bit more from the ALMIGHTY layne manley. i recently realised why i only got to see him for a few minutes on his SA tour. i went to go and book my tickets for the recent Elton John concert and upon approaching the lady at the ticket booth, she warmly greated me and asked me if i was booking for the recently knighted Sir Elton John or the infamous Layne Manley show. i opted for the latter only to be advised that this performance had been fully booked months prior to his arrival. this was obviosly extemely upsetting as i was gaurenteed a front row seat months prior to his arrival. all i can hope for is that next time i plan properly and book months in advance. all i have now is the matric year end book to remind me of my long lost friend. as a wisw old man once told me, s*** HAPPENS, wise he was, i never saw this one coming. all i can end off with is a line from the movie BLOOD BROTHERS, VATOS LOCOS, WHICH LOOSELY TRANSLATED MEANS, BROTHERS FOREVER NO MATTER WHAT YOUR PLAK IS ABOUT. ***NEWS FLASH*****NEWS FLASH****
Ten weeks after a young couple of love birds were supposed to arrive on South African soil , a missing persons report was filed at a local Cape Town police station. One of the love birds,a Mr Layne Manley of Cape Town, formerly Welsh, was reported missing by his 2 old friends of roughly 25 years. The 2 chaps became increasingly concerned as reports , by a select few, began to ciculate. The reports indicated that the couple had infact been spotted in Town but these 2 chaps became concerned as the man in question seemingly vanished off the radar. After a huge build up to the visit the two men became a little concerned that they never saw Mr Manley more than twice in an 8 week period.>>>Any info on this person can be reported to the Kak and Spoeg Kroeg
Those that did see him may be able to assist police with an identicate as apparently there has been an attempted change of identity

We met Jonny and little Llayne and Liam at ish Hoek beach today for a walk and a swim. Good weather today. We then took a drive around the peninsula, Scarborough, Misty Cliffs and Kommetjie. You should have seen the colour of the water. Crystal clear and that turquoise colour. We saw 2 dolphins in the waves about 10 or 15 meters from the shore, I havent seen that for a while in Misty Cliffs. Excellent. So how was the flight, how long and so on. Have you had a curry yet?? I will send some of the photos to your email. Chat later I am about to light the fire and have a doppie or twee. Cheers.
