Christmas Day in Rabat started at the very civilized time of 8:00am- surprising, particularly as Alicia was very keen to see what Santa might deliver. Two very happy children proceeded to open their many gifts - Alicia was very helpful as she helped hand out the gifts from under the tree. Watching Benjamin and Alicia enjoy the morning reminded us that Christmas really is about children. Lots of lovely memories of Christmases past with our baby Hannah come to mind.
Moët, cheese, breads, meats were on the breakfast menu. Peter and I then headed to the shops ( which are all open in Morocco of course!) to get vegetables and chickens to roast for Christmas dinner!
Am now sitting in the kitchen, having made the stuffing and stuffed the chickens. Just finished a lovely, refreshing Moscow Mule( vodka, lots of ice, ginger ale and a slice of lime). Peter is making a batch of pumpkin soup ready for tomorrow when they have 20 or so people coming over. The kitchen smells pretty good!!
Lots of love to all our blog readers. I hope you've had a fabulous Christmas Day. xxoo
