Another part of our volunteering is to go into the refugee schools and help teach basic English, math, science etc. Most of the children are from Afghanistan where their parents have left the country and are taking refuge in Kuala Lumpur. One of the things you forget about major cities; and the thing I like about Kuala Lumpur is how bloody tall the building are! And how many there are in the city centre. So it turns out it's Chinese New Year on Monday and Tuesday so we have Friday to Tuesday off and the school isn't running on Wednesday cause they wanted to take another day off.. I don't mind that! One of our volunteering duties is to go into the special school for mentally disabled children. I was put in a class with about 8, all had an attention span of about 3 seconds..
