Hervey Bay is a horrible industrial town with lots of rednecks so we gladly went to Fraser Island one day later on a 2 day tour of the island. We went on a 4 wheel drive BUS with a group of fantastic people and a hilarious guide called Peter. We saw amazing animals; even a python at the side of the road and of course a DINGO! The weather for the first day was AWFUL and we got attacked by leeches but Lucy and I soldiered on through the rainforest cos that's how much we've changed!!! There were gorgeous beaches and sandblows and we went sand jumping and swimming in freshwater lakes. Lucy and I became known as the 'Karaoke Queens' for our apt rendition of Material Girl by Madonna. Coming straight off the ferry from Fraser Island, sandy and gross, we then caught an overnight bus for 13 hours to Airlie Beach which is where we arrived this morning!
