...gone fishin'
Dearest Friends and Family.
How´s this for weird: We left NZ on Wed 20th at 6pm right?
...we flew for 12 hrs... and arrived in Santiago, Chile, on.... Wed 20th at 1pm....
HEY?????
(apparently we crossed the time line) freaking bizarre. Does that mean i can say i flew backwards in time??? SO yesterday Wed 20th lasted approx 41hrs in the world of D&K. Totally confusing. A brisk bout of insomnia at 3am in a freeeeeezing cold hostel room was enough to tell us our bodies were confunked. So far Chile is.... freaking chilly! (haahaa).
So there WAS meant to be a longwinded blog on how absolutely awesome and magnificent and breathtaking NZ is, demanding that you all drop what yr doing and fly to the South Island, hire a campervan, drive around ooo-ing and aaah-ing at the antiquated-looking lord-of-the-rings-ical scenery, stopping where-the-hell-you-like when-the-hell-you-like to make tea/milo/lunch and gawp at the magical surroundings, before climbing onto a horse, into a kayak, down the luge in a go-cart, cruising the sounds, seeing glowworm´s bums glow(??!!) in a pitch dark cave, facing the terrifying-looking terminal ends of an active glacier, sitting in stinky-but-apparently-healing natural springs, climbing an almost snow capped mountain, or doing the scenic walks (ja, we´re walkers hey?!!) come rain or storm(hell) & sometimes even high water(!!), before parking whereveretc for the night, drinking the wine you personally tasted at whichever winefarm happened to cruise past, eating fresh salmon or D´s amazing lamb&mint steaks cooked right there in yr 1bed-apartment-on-wheels, ...sigh... there was meant to be so much more from us on our trip during our trip, but the truth is it was just so awesome we couldn't face stepping out of it to write about it.
Just go. (but not now, it´s too cold) ;-)
Hope everyone´s well happy healthy and enjoying summer in london!
Love,
KnD
PS Anyone currently living or who has lived in london...you GOTTAMUST watch "HOT FUZZ". It´may look like rubbish on the pstr (of course i´m projecting) but i tell you it was one of the best films i´ve seen in a long time. Very funny. (though not slapstick, intelligent funny!)
