Today was Ngong Ping day on the island of Lantau nr Hong Kong Airport. I got the bus to Central and from there got the MTR train to Tung Chung station. At the station there are loads of outlet store selling duty free goods as it the airport Island. I had alook round and bought a couple of things. To get to Ngong Ping 360 (pictured) you hve to take the cable car. This is absolutely stunning ride you can see magnificent views of Tung Chung, HK airport, Lantau North Country Park, Ngong Ping village and Tian Tian Buddha Statue. I tooks loads of pictures. At the top there is basically a whole village with things to do. I did the walking with Buddha which basically talks about the religon eeek not sure I believe in tht lol.
After Ngong Ping 360 I took a bus into the nearest fishing village Tai O. When you get off the bus it is literally like another planet bearly any shops jus a quite little village on the coast. Most of the houses are on stilits as well as little market stalls selling everything. I took a boat trip out to see the coast and we were lucky to see some of the pink dolphins.
When I had finished looking around I went to Mai Wo on the way I stopped at a nearby beach and sunbathed for a few hours. In Mai Wo there is a ferry terminal to the main island. I took the scenic ferry which takes about an hour and got some good photos of Central. Whn I got bk I got the number 13 bk to Kotewall rd.
At 7.30 I had dinner and When Wendy came bk from here tai chi class we went to look at the nyt life in Wan Chi which about 10 mintue walk fromthe flat. Everything and I mean everything is open till 6am restaurants turn into bars and bars turn into clubs - its amaizng. The multistorey highrise can sell clothes on the both floor and the penthouse hold a massive club. Wendy and Colin went bk and I stayed out for bit. I got bk quite late and went to bed.
