Hey :) well I've had a VERY busy week since updating last! I left Bangkok for the last time on this trip on Monday morning ( no more Thailand!) to fly to Bali... then I left Bali the same day on a bus to Bondowoso with Nadiya & her friend, Koh. After one day of chilling by the hotel's pool (haha - check me out, a pool in my hotel!) we got up at 3.30am the next day to drive to Mount Ijen - and then we spent about an our and a half hiking the 3km up to the crater and it was beautiful. Possibly the best experience of my trip so far, the views of the rocky area around us and the sulphur lake - lush! We left there the same day to head off to a place called Probolinggo where we got up, again, the next morning at 3.30am - after I spent the night on a s***ty mattress in the coldest room ever in Indonesia - seriously we were all sleeping in jumpers & jackets and as many layers as we could! At 4am we set off up to the viewpoint near Mount Bromo for sunrise, but unfortunately it was so cloudy and rainy that sunrise happened, unnoticed, behind a load of clouds :( but then we went over to Bromo & the clouds lifted as I hiked up (while Nadiya and Koh got horse rides up) and by the time we'd met back up and climbed the stairs to the crater the sky was clear and the views were beautiful! This crater wasn't as impressive as Ijen but still was a great experience - just a shame there was no sunrise :( oh well!

Back in Bali now, got into Kuta at 1am yesterday (I think) and spent over an hour traipsing around with my 2 bags and a lovely Dutch/Belgian couple I'd met on the bus looking for a room! Ended up paying too much for the 3 of us to sleep in a room with 2 single beds haha, at least there was a hot shower - even if the bathroom didn't have a door!! Now I'm in the same place but with a double bed to myself and an outdoor bathroom for less than 7 pounds a night :D oh yeah!

Heading to Gili Trawangan tomorrow where I'm hoping to chill out now and do some diving for a few days... not long 'til Oz!!
