The plane flight from Singapore to Christchurch was a much better flight than the one the previous night. We arrived at Christchurch airport about a half hour earlier than was due to rain and 11 deg. Nice picked us up and we went around to see Mike before being delivered home to unpack. What a lovely time we had. Super holiday.

We had a stopover in Milan for one hour and then all of the passengers from there boarded the plane for the onward journey to Singapore. The flight was a bit bumpy and neither of us got much sleep and as a result we had a few naps at the Singapore lounge and had a shower before boarding the plane to Christchurch.

We got up and tidied up the flat and packed our bags. I had to slide them down the 75 steps to the bottom and we waited out on the street to flag down a cab to the airport. Was a quick trip to the airport as there was very little traffic around and we checked our bags in and then did all the customs stuff and went and had a coffee before boarding our Singapore Airlines plane to Singapore via Milan.

Saturday 10th October - Barcelona Beach. When the crew all got back we mounted up and rode the 4kms downhill to the sea. We stopped a couple of times to let those caught by red lights catch up but when we stopped at the Barcelona beachfront our guide told us that this was all built for the 1992 Olympics as previously it had been part of the port. Saturday 10th October - Sagrada Familia and Then Downhill. We headed off uphill along one of these long wide avenues that Barcelona has many of. There were specific bike lanes and this is the only time that I have been in a bike lane that gets to a junction and there are straight ahead and turning arrows on the roadway for bikes.
