We were really privileged to be able to visit the Khartoum International Community School (KICS) and give a presentation to the Year 7 geography class (age 11-12). Their homework was to write about what they thought of our visit and here are a few quotes: "On the 20th of November Mr Richard and Mrs Camilla came to visit us and share with us information about their trip. They are doing this trip because they want to raise money for a charity called Amani Kids and they also like fun and adventure...They have a very strong English car with a small cupboard at the side of the car in case they run out of gas." RAYAN "Biggles is a very useful car; it has a lot of space to put things. The two sleep in a tent that is actually connected to the car, which is a good thing because when they are sleeping no bugs will bite or sting them, or if someone steals the car they won't get lost...they are very brave to do such a challenge and I hope they succeed." ZEKI "They made me laugh when they said they have a huge bottle they put their clothes to wash and the roads are so bumpy that it washes the clothes...I didn't really like it when they said they poo or pee behind a rock or bush" LATIFA "The man is called Richard and the woman is called Kamila...today is their 100th day and they are doing this to raise money to a place where there are poor people in Tanzania. They are very kind people. The thing I liked was their tent, it was very cool." AMIN "They even had a toilet which was just a bucket but I must add that it is not the one they use for washing...I thought it was great to hear about these peoples adventures but just before they left they told us that maybe when we are more older we might want to do something like this but to do so we have to study really hard in geography" "It was really interesting to hear them speak about their adventure and it made me feel that I would love to do one of these journeys around the world." ALISON "We went outside and saw their big strong Land Rover. It was a cool car it had everything you need inside. The tent is in a smart place. The cool thing is that his friend fixes the engines for the formula one team McLaren!!! It was fun with Richard and Camilla today and maybe we can do something like this again."
