Day 137 - 140 SAMBURU and THE GREAT HOBNOB HEIST We spent a couple of days relaxing at Timau, walking off the Christmas lunch, eating turkey sandwiches, turkey soup, turkey hot pot and Thai turkey curry until everything was gone...then we drove north to the Samburu National Park. Day 134-136 CHRISTMAS AT MOUNT KENYA We left Rumurutti on Christmas Eve morning and drove to Nanuki, in search of a turkey! We arrived at a butchers shop just as it was closing and by sheer coincidence they had one turkey left which had been ordered by a customer but not collected. We were so happy but rather shocked when we saw it: a mammoth 14 llb bird, with enough meat on it to feed ten people! Quite how we were going to cook it remained a mystery ...

Day 129 - 149 NAKURU to NANUKI We left the lovely campsite in Nakuru and spent a night camping in Nakuru National Park. Jilly and Gareth had fun getting to know their 35 year old Range Rover we've named Ginger (apparently Ginger was Biggles' co-pilot in the famous books of the daring world war one pilot). Day 130 - Christmas calling... We have just spent a wonderful few days relaxing at a beautiful campsite just outside of Nakuru. Biggles is back on form after a day in the Roving Rovers workshop, located conveniently right next to Kembu Campsite. We had three new shocks fitted, the front axle crack welded, the roofrack reinforced, the exhaust patched, the radio mended, the power steering belt tightened, our back security lock fixed and the bearings looked ...

Day 124 -127 "The worst road in Africa" We crossed the border into Kenya with little trouble - it seemed incredibly efficient compared with other borders. We bought our visas and got the relevant stamps then headed off on the 250km road to Marsabit - a trip that others had told us can take only four hours if you go fast.
