So, after a rather long break of not cycling (much) I am now back on the road (or cycle path, depending). Obviously, again nothing turned out like planned - which now is partly due to the fact that my plans were very loose on purpose because I wanted to be flexible and therefore I didn't really look into all the details of my rough plan - which was a mistake maybe, but then, it all turns out fine in the end. After leaving Kiel and playing one last football match...

So the football season is over. It hasn't been quite as successful as I had intended it to be. But over the season I learned to be happy with good games and stopped worrying too much about points and goals that we get. Certainly makes life much easier, and fortunately as an amateur player this is acceptable, I guess. I was used to thinking that only goals and points won count, but in reality I mainly play for fun and not necessarily to win. It's like in real life...

After more than three months I am starting to get used to little village life in Europe. I can't say that it is much in comparison with little village life in Mexico, but then you can't really compare Austria to Mexico anyways, other than by finding the many differences. I am also still/again wondering how it is possible to be so busy all the time while officially I am unemployed (jobless). I spend most of my time currently walking around the woods and in the mou...

Not too surprisingly it is rather cold here. It is still bearable, however, and also slowly getting warmer. There is quite some snow but it is also not too bad. It actually looks really nice… Life is mainly different because I am only working on my computer now, so I spend way too much time indoors and with my computer. But of course I try to go for walks every day and I was also supposed to help with breeding bird counts, but this has to wait for later in the ...

Now, here is one last but long post about Mexico. It seems like I just can't let go. But then some things you only really realize when you find the differences after you come back… Also I need to add that everything I am saying here is true for Mexico - so not necessarily for all parts of Mexico and certainly not for Quintana Roo (and partly Mexico City). Back in Europe I have to re-adapt again and get rid of all the habits you automatically develop in Mexico....
