Extra early start to get the beach before the tide comes in. So hot water beach is basically a beach where if you dig in a certain spot you hit hot water and you can sit in it like a bath! Amazing! Although the spot is not signed posted there's just a vague map at the start of the beach oh and did I mention it's freezing! Like can't even take out shoes off cold it feels like walking on snow instead of sand! Obviously being us we can't find it, argue over where the spot it and end up at the wrong side of the beach! On the way back a huge group of people have appeared from nowhere and are digging holes so there you go we found it! We start digging our hole (with a frying pan by the way who wants to pay $5 to hire a spade!!) but all the good spots are taken :( 2 guys offer to let us in there hole so we decide to just put our feet in, the water is boiling! But we the tide comes in and the sea water mixes in its lovely! But we can't stay long as we have the first of our free trips starting at 11am and it's a 3 hour drive away so it's back on the road! We make it to the caves on time (just about) and first thing we have to do is put on a freezing cold still wet wetsuit and get in a bus to the caves! The trip is awesome starting off with abseiling into the caves 40 metres down, then zip lining through the glow worm caves which is beautiful looks just like the starry night sky then we are all given hot chocolate to warm us up before being made to jump into the icy cave water in a rubber tube, we are then tubing through the caves over rapids and down waterfalls in the freezing cold icy water surrounded by glow worms and who know what's lurking in the water. Next is rock climbing and caving, the rest of the group drop out half way through but me and Elliot go to the end squeezing in to the tiniest of tiny spaces and using mud as lube to help us slide through the extra tight bits, finally we have to get back up! This involves rocking climbing with no equipment up fast flowing waterfalls just using the guides instructions the tallest waterfall we did was 6 metres! Finally we are back in the sunshine! And a warm shower and soup and bagels couldn't have come any quicker! An amazing trip and we were so lucky to get it foc including photos! Back in the car and on to the next destination: Rotoura! We get there pretty late and spend the evening cooking dinner and watching family guy! Yes the jucy even has a DVD player!
