Not to waste any time, we decided to head down to London for our first weekend away. After a lot of kafuffle and realising you had to book tickets to catch a bus we decided to go all out and pay $180 for a train. Luckily we were staying with Chris whose family very kindly let us into their beautiful home. The next morning we left early to pack in all the sites we wanted to see. We first made our way to the London Eye. Much to our distress it was closed, but we saved our precious pounds and compensated by taking many pictures from the bottom of it. We then walked along the river to the Tate Modern which proved to be very thrilling! After hours of analysing these artists during high school it was really very special seeing their artwork in real life. Unfortunately for my wallet I spent everything I saved by not going on the Eye in the gift shop, buying postcards, posters and a calendar. We continued determined to find Buckingham palace and whilst it is a very beautiful building we were definitely more intrigued by the guards stomping and stamping out the front. We then headed to Oxford St to squeeze in a bit of shopping, however once we hit H&M we didn't' get out and it was the only shop we had time for. We then headed to Madame Tussauds to get as close to celebrities as we were ever going to get. Nothing would get Veronica away from Nicole and after a few fun and scandalous pictures we were satisfied. Time to hit the town!We were happy following Chris's lead and after going to his friends' house party we arrived in what we found out to be the "dodgy" part of London. Oblivious to this we had a blast. I got a free shot from the bar guy; we saw two guys pash and much to my embarrassment the next day I ended up blabbing to everyone in an English accent. The rest of the night was a bit of a blur and I am sure we woke up every single person in Chris's house at 5 in the morning when we came home. After a nice little sleep in we spent the day resting then said a said goodbye to Veronica who had to head back to Germany. Overall a very good weekend!
