Been in Sydney just over a week and had such a great time. Got a bit of a shock when we first arrived because it was freezing! We had been on a night bus for 14 hours which was also freezing and in that time I developed a really bad cold, that is what a shock it was to the system. Toyah has had a really bad throat too - we have turned soft! It meant that we had to do some emergency shopping for warm clothes and some emergency cupcake eating and coffee drinking until we acclimatised. We saw some of the sights inbetween warming up too. Spent the weekend at my cousins - thanks James had a great time. It was like living in a hotel - tea made for us, a comfy bed, no wierdos to share a room with (apart from James), loved it. Went out on the Friday for a quick drink and got in at 4 in the morning, had such a good night. We managed to actually get up the next day and went to Paddington Market and Bondi Beach. Generous Uncle Dennis paid for us to go out for a meal Saturday at this really nice Mexican place. We then went to some bars, then a house party, then a club and got in at 6.30 in morning. When we were at the house party this guy came over to us and asked if we were the girls from Maggie Island. It was the camera guy who had been staying there when we had. The only person we know in Sydney and he is at this random house party on a Saturday night, was really random. Sunday was a bit of a write off until we ventured out for a pie, best pie ever! Then James took us on a bit of a tour around the sights we hadn't seen yet before we collapsed infront of tv and watched possibly the worst film ever made. The ice cream and chocolate mint biscuits more than made up for it though. We moved into a hostel the next day which feels so rubbish compared to a house but still ok. Me and Toyah were talking about how we hadn't had any bad snoring people yet. A couple of nights ago, not only did we get a snorer but he also wet the bed! Not so funny at the time but hilarious the next day when you remember what happened. We got woken up in middle of night by hostel staff who had to come and inspect the bed after the guy in the bottom bunk felt dripping. We haven't seen the guy since, probably scrubbing his body clean! The guy who wet the bed doesn't seem embarrassed by it though, was talking to us yesterday like nothing had happened and was planning another night out!
Once we were in the hostel we have done loads. Caught a ferry out to a place called Manly, which was really nice and great for watching all the surfers. Now me and Toyah are pros we keep watching them and commenting on technique and stuff, think we are right experts! Went to the Blue Mountains one day which were gorgeous and did lots of walking and admiring of views. Did a costal walk between Coogee beach and Bondi. Started off gorgeous blue skies in Coogee but was chucking it down by the time we got to Bondi. We then went on the longest walk from bondi into town (stopped off for tea on the way) and saw all the opera house and harbour bridge at night which was pretty impressive. We have walked across bridge too. Pretty much spent a week walking around Sydney, know it so well. Met James again for drinks and took him for a meal last night in a place called the rocks. Just had a really good week and love Sydney, could stay here for ages. However, we have a night bus to catch tonight down to Melbourne which should be good. Catching ferry today to place called Watson's Bay in the search for some good fish and chips, very excited about that. Still having amazing time and still happy. Lots of lovexxxxxxxx
