Turangi is just at the southern tip of lake Taupo and the reason for coming here was to complete the Alpine Tongariro Crosssing walk, one of NZ best 1 day walks. The first day of Taupo was shocking weather so we spent the day chilling out. We went to the large local sports centre to the swimming baths, which had an indoor and outdoor heated pool linked through a tunnel which was gorgeous. The ferry ride across to Wellington was alot more bearable than the ferry ride from mainland Thailand to Koh Tao haha. When we arrived in kaikoura the weather was shocking, all whale watching trips had been cancelled for the day as they rely on planes etc to spot the whales for the boats and it was to cloudy to spot any, plus the sea was too rough. From Motueka, we randomly passed Abel Tasman Skydive Centre. The weather was perfect and spontaneously we decided this is where we wanted to do our skydive, with amazing views of sourrounding mountains, Abel Tasman National Park and the famous Golden Bay.
