Late Afternoon we arrive at Thredbo Ski Village. This was to be our home for the evening. After settling into our rooms and freshening up. We went down to the restaurant for dinner and a few drinks. we decided to go for a night walk around the village to see if we could spot wombats, but alas nothing, just got very cold!
Next morning up for brekkie and then it was off up to walk to Mt Kosciuszko. All wrapped up warm we start our way up by going on the snowgum chairlift. Now that was an experience trying to get off and on!!!
At the top and we start our hike. Its more than likely about 0'C by now and we still had to climb up more. There was a fair bit of snow lying around. After one pit stop we finally made it to the lookout of Mt Kosciuszko. It was so spectacular to see and you def didn't feel like you were in Australia. So after a quick photo it was off to start the decent back down. Quite tricky trying to go down without falling on my arse in the snow! I made it though. On the way back down the chairlift it decided to stop partway down that was not fun, sitting there for a few minutes waiting to see if it would start up again or that we would be stranded there for ever!!!
After a quick lunch we were on the road again, driving through the Mt Kosciuszko and Alpine National Parks following the Snowy River and driving along an old road called Barry way. We passed through a few townships with bizare names, such as Suggan Buggan and Seldom Seen!! Spotting brumbies (wild horses), Kangaroos and Black Tail Wallabies. We passed over the NSW/Victoria Border.
Arriving early evening at Lakes Entrance.
