Today is the last day. Although I love to road trip, I may have started to love my memory foam mattress more. Today will be the last night we will sleep together for the next two weeks. I will miss my memory foam mattress.
There is a lot to do before a road trip, but it's easy to over do it. The one thing that makes a road trip different than a camping trip, which is our normal, is access. When we camp, we are tucked so far back in the woods if someone forgot a toothbrush then they are SOL. On a road trip, there are dozens of pitstops; a toothbrush or jacket or other forgotten item can easily be replaced.
The key is not to over pack. If you fill every square inch of your vehicle with stuff you already own, there will be no room for souvenirs and mementos. Let's get packing!
