At times we got to make our own waves as we sped through the water. Our first faster part of the trip was prompted but a rather close encounter with a hippo, the 1st we knew of him being there was a huge air bubble bursting out of the water about a meter off the left hand side of the boat – our guide put the pedal to the metal at the sound of this and whisked us to a safer distance!
