Our Golden Myanmar flight was eventually operated by the bigger, safer and obviously better airline, Myanmar National Airways and it was a brand, spanking new ATR72 - actually spacious (not words usually associated with these prop planes). We arranged with the airline to be within nipping distance to the door and the loo. Which was lucky. Eventually made it to the hotel about 9.30 pm on Friday. On a positive note, it’s the third comfortable bed we’ve had in our whole stay. Wonders will never cease. Saturday was a gazetted rest day and prep day - ensuring our flights to Singapore and India are confirmed, transfer at Delhi to hotel for a few hours arranged, ticket printed for the Golden Temple Mail express to take us to Rajasthan then off to hopefully spot tigers in Ranthambore National Park. We are, afterall cat people.
And then...
On night 2 of our Yangon stay I was feeling very green, we went to have a nice seafood dinner and actually had to turn around at the door and come back to our hotel. Managed to get to sleep - right up until I too had to make bestest friends with porcelein percy in the bathroom. Would have been lucky to get a couple of hours sleep before the trip to the airport at 7.30 am. Thankfully cab had no air conditioning - so hung my head out the window for fresh air. Flight to Singapore went off without a hitch. Except for me not being able to touch a morsel of food or a drop of wine. Sigh... Lounge in Singapore is lovely though and James is trying everything and reporting back so I don’t feel I’m missing out. Much. Flight’s to Delhi has just been delayed 3 hours... departing 2.40 am instead of 11 pm. So had a 4 hour kip on a couple of joined up armchairs. Definitely not in Asia anymore... was actually comfy. India - here we come. Eventually.
