We sat down the other day and carried out our annual review of Christmases past - always a good time of year to dust off fond memories and play the 'wonder where we'll be next Christmas' game. Suffice it to say, this time last year, ensconced in the 1st arrondissement of Paris, we did not say 'ooh ooh ooh - let's spend next Christmas in our own apartment in Sydney'. And yet, here we are, safe, sound and not suffering from the plague sweeping the rest of this glo...

Well here we are - Mountains! The Blue Mountains for sure - not the alps, not snow covered and not winter... but the significantly cooler overnight temperatures drew us to this housesit - think 5-6 degrees overnight - vs. 17-18. Yowser! (Technical meteorological term that... similar to OMG - with regard to the snow fall in Tasmania last week at the same time as the rest of Australia was suffering a heat wave just after the hottest November on Australian record.)...

We are travellers (with a small t, obviously). There is simply no getting away from it. (In fairness, although 'getting away' might be considered the entire purpose of travel, we rather think we go toward the new vs get away from the old.) We have been enjoying our prime spot in Potts Point and have reached the end of Phase 1. Pray tell, you may be curious as to 'Phase 1' - Pretty much we've unpacked every, single item from our storage pod, sold/donated/turfed...

We so enjoyed our housesit in Neutral Bay that we're now actively looking for mini-breaks in attractive new spots. And being quite fussy with it... air-conditioning, small dogs only, preferably cats, a pool, a very comfy sofa and a king size bed... Why are we being so particular? Just for once, in our fabulous international housesitters of mystery lifestyle, because we can. We can be particular because we are revelling in living in our comfy and central Potts Po...

Moo. Gin. Hmmm. The sound a cow makes and the perfect accompaniment to tonic water? Absolutely. Also the cutest cats in Neutral Bay. We asked them and they confirmed it immediately. Someone once asked us with regard to our housesitting caper/lifestyle, 'so, you've fed the dog - now what do you do with your day?'. What a serious lack of imagination that person displayed. We're in a new suburb (or in the past... a new country) and there are supermarkets to explo...
